Betty L. Nolen

Betty L. Nolen, age 90, of Belleville, IL, born on February 21, 1931, in Arcadia, MO, died on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Betty was a former Insurance Broker for Insurance Source in St. Louis, MO.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL, and was very active in her church and Sunday School.  Also, in her previous church, she was active in Missionettes and in the Bible Quiz Team. Betty enjoyed playing cards in the Ladies Card Club at Crehan’s and the Belleville Senior Center.  She loved being the mother hen to her many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Nolen; her son, Robert Guy Jackson; her parents, Acie and Irene, nee Yates Lewis; her siblings, Wanda Sutton, June Falls, James Lewis, Marion Lewis, and Susan Sutton; and her nephews, Robert Thomas Falls, Gary W. Falls and Keith Sutton.  

Betty is survived by her sister, Janice R. Buttron of Olathe, KS; her brother, Robert A. Lewis (Gayle L. Eaton), of Imperial, MO; her nieces and nephews Tammy Sutton, Jerry Sutton, Rhonda Lewis, Tonya Ruble, Kevin Sutton, Jimmy Lewis, Debra K. Eugea, Jessica L. Bender, Dana L. Loesch, Cindy Pratt, and Cathy Pratt; a brother-in-law, Junior Sutton. She is also survived by many loving great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Visitation will also be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights, IL, with Dr. Jim Kerr officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.
