Bette Jeanne Gourley, nee Marlow, age 90, of Cahokia, IL, born on June 5, 1936, in Lincoln, NE, died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Mercy South Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Bette was a registered nurse and worked at City Hospital and DesPeres Hospital, both in St. Louis, MO. She and her husband William were longtime members of Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Gourley; her children, Patricia Faye Sargent, Steven Lee Gourley, and Robert Wayne Gourley; her parents, Bernard F. and Mabel Lee Marlow; her sister, Mary Senum; and four grandchildren, Kara Gourley, Scott Oakley, Janet Sargent, and Matthew Gourley.

Bette is survived by her children, Janice Carol (Rick) Watson, and William D. (Vicki) Gourley; her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Gourley; 15 grandchildren, Paul, Jeanne, Steve, Kim, Ruth, Ed, Jeff, Larry, Terry, Rachel, Bobby, Billy, Joey, Jennifer, and Amanda; 29 great grandchildren; and her loving niece, Bette Sue Bretek.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Nurse Honor Guard Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:50 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL, with Pastor Ron Habermehl officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
