Barbara D. Thomas

Barbara D. Thomas (nee Schneider), 86 years old, went home to be with Jesus on October 19, 2023.

She was the beloved wife of 40 years to the late Robert Thomas. Barb was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Robert Jr; her mother, Fern Schneider, and siblings, John Schneider and MaryAnn (Fuzzy) Price.

She is survived by her siblings, Jim Schneider and Laurie Hayduk, and by her children, Laurie (Chuck) Buffington, Edward (Lisa) Thomas, Robin (Kevin) James, Beth (Joseph) Camarata, and Lisa (Michael) Murphy. Loving grandmother to Joe (Rachel) Green, Melissa Green, Ethan Green, Grace (Ryan) Bouse, Morgan Buffington, Jessica (Chase) Lepard, Samuel Thomas, Rachel James (James Kassly), Rebecca (Kevin) Gillespie, Amy (Josh) Copeland, Michael (Katie) Murphy, and Nick Murphy (Olivia Peruski); dearest great-grandmother to Grant Green, Elliot Lepard, Jackson and Henry Copeland. She was a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and a friend to many.

As an active member in her parish, St. Vincent de Paul, Barb was a member of the Ladies of Charity, serving as president from 2004 to 2008. She worked in AIDS outreach and regularly worked serving dinners to the homeless and families in need.

Barb loved the St. Louis arts, holding season tickets to the Fox Theatre, St. Louis Symphony, and the Muny Opera. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.
