Barbara Miller Obituary

Barbara Anne Williams Miller, age 91, of Caseyville, IL, born on July 21, 1934 in Richmond, VA, died on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Caseyville Nursing and Rehab, Caseyville, IL.

Barbara was raised in Richmond, Virginia and spent weekends in Urbanna, Virginia on her daddy’s boat with her sisters, which made lasting memories for all of them. Barbara graduated from Richmond Professional Institute and was a model at Thalhimers department store and also worked as the store’s artist. Barbara later worked as a layout artist for the Newnan Times Herald.

Barbara was independent and was always willing to learn new things. She enjoyed camping, bridge, gardening and was a member of the Republican Women’s Club. She was one of the first women in Kiwanis in Newnan, Georgia, and held positions with the Retarded Children’s Association, also in Newnan. Barbara moved to Illinois in 2003 upon her retirement.

Barbara was a beautiful lady inside and out who loved her family. Her children, Kathy and Eddie, always came first. She loved exploring her family history. We will all miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Williams, Sr., and Doris Pauline, nee Williams, Williams Moorefield. Barbara is survived by her children, Katherine Ann (Dwaine) Whitaker and Carroll Edwards (Belinda) Miller, III; her grandchildren, Dawn (Nathan) Glizinski, Jessica Leigh Whitaker, Jennifer Nicole Czartoszewski, Jacob Nathaniel (Emily) Whitaker, Christopher Edwards (Karlye) Miller, Parker Flournoy, and Eli (Kristen) High; her great-grandchildren, Alexia Faye Parsons, Brianna Marie Jones, Dillon Adam Whitaker, and Emery James Ann Miller; her sisters, whom she raised, cared for and loved very much, Patricia M. Hall and Kathleen D. Fischer; her brother, Benjamin Franklin (Marie) Williams, Jr., and her sister, Clemmie (Harvey) Lankford.
