August "Auggie" Manso

August “Auggie” Manso, age 85, of East St. Louis, IL, born on September 19, 1935 in Fairmont City, IL, died on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Auggie was a retired police officer of the East St. Louis Police Department.  He loved to play golf, softball and manage the East St. Louis police softball team.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Truly Roberson; his parents, Jose and Benita, nee Muniz Manso; his sisters, Victoria Ramirez and Mary Alva; his brother, Joseph “Pepe” Manso, Sr., and his special friend, Leonard Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Marian J. Manso; his children, Lynn Percival and Vincent Manso; his sisters, Rosalie Boyd of Manchester, MI and Virginia (Robert) Martiszus of New Baden, IL; his Godson, Auggie Hughes; and his special friends, Joe McCaskill and Sana Ullah.

Memorials may be made to Manso family at the mortuary.   

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
