Audrey Vallina Obituary

Mrs. Audrey Logan Vallina, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Her daughter and son-in-law were by her side.

She was born on November 10, 1929, to the late Earl Franklin Logan and late Wenonah Parres in East St. Louis, Illinois. She attended East St. Louis Jefferson School and East St. Louis Senior High School where she belonged to the Tau Delta Chapter of Lambda Sigma Alpha. She met the love of her life, Louis “Babe” Angel Vallina at the Jones Park Pool. In 1954 they married at Holy Angels Church in East St. Louis. Since Babe was in the Navy, Audrey left her family and friends for Portsmouth, Virginia. She gave birth to twins (a girl and boy) in 1956 when they were only expecting one child!  Audrey, who had worked most of her life, stopped so she could devote her time to being a mother. Fourteen months later she gave birth to another son. She was constantly busy volunteering, taking care of three young children, packing and moving wherever the Navy sent Babe. From Portsmouth, Virginia to Norfolk then to the Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois, back to Norfolk and onto Mayport, Florida and finally back to Norfolk where Babe retired from the Navy in 1966. From there they moved back home to Illinois. She worked many jobs as a bookkeeper and secretary. Her last job prior to retiring was in Civil Service at Scott Air Force Base where she met her dear friends, Luther and Verne Lemon. Once retired, she and Babe travelled the United States, Spain, France, Portugal and her beloved Scotland. She was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage and on September 22, 2022, she was officially proclaimed Lady Audrey Logan Vallina by virtue of owning land in Scotland. In 2018, she moved to Richmond Hill, Georgia to live out her life with her daughter and son in-law. She would tell folks she was homesick for Illinois but didn’t want to move because she loved the beautiful weather in Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Angel “Babe” Vallina; her parents, Earl and Wenonah Logan; her brothers, Archer Logan, Van Logan, Earl Rolland “Rollie” Logan; sisters Doris Theis nee Logan and Virginia Lee Logan; several half-brothers as well as her four-legged fur baby, Pele. She was the loving matriarch to not only our family, but so many other families and friends who became part of the ever-growing Vallina family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Kimberly Vallina Nott (Paul); sons, Van L. Vallina (Michelle) and Christopher G. Vallina; grandson, Thomas Vallina; step-grandchildren, Katelyn Caldwell and Jake Caldwell; many nieces, nephews, family, friends; our Cueto family and of course her puppy, Gilley Grace Logan Vallina Nott.

In lieu of flowers, momma would love it if you would donate to any Animal Shelter or to Savannah Hospice, who took such great care of her during her last few weeks of life.
