Arman Festigian

Arman Festigian, age 99, of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of East St. Louis, IL, born on December 17, 1922 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Dammert Care Center, Belleville, IL.

Arman was a sales manager for Locke Stove Company for 37 years. Prior, he served his country in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater in World War II, specifically, as a member of the heavy mortar crew providing fire support to the advancing infantry in the Philippines. Arman was a devoted and long-time member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Granite City, IL. Known to all in his church community as “Uncle Arman,” he was a Sunday school teacher, and for many years led the church’s youth organization.  In October, he was happy to celebrate his upcoming 100th birthday with family, friends, and his parish community at St. Gregory’s.

He is preceded  in death by his parents, Krekor and Lucy, nee Horabadian, Fusdigian; his sisters,  Virginia Fusdigian and Rose Ohanesian; and three half-brothers, George Johnson, Harry Johnson, and Leo Johnson.

He is survived by his nephew, Jerrold (Florence) Johnson, of New Market, TN; his step niece, Pollyanne (Robert) McCann of Wood River, IL; his grandnephew, Jay (Kellie) Johnson of Cleveland, TN; and his grandniece, Virginia (Bradley) Laux, of Morehead, KY.  

Memorials may be made to St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., with Father Taniel Manjikian officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
