Annetta Jane Cowart

Annetta Jane Cowart, age 82, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on August 18, 1943 in Quinter, KS, passed away on March 2, 2026, at her residence in Fairview Heights, IL.

Annetta was a graduate of Quinter High School in Quinter, KS.  After graduation she met Jerry and they married on March 21, 1963. They were just shy of reaching an impressive 63 years of marriage.  Annetta loved being active in her children’s lives and activities, and in being a homemaker for the family.  She was an active Cub Scout Leader and an advocate for special needs, especially Down Syndrome.  Annetta was also an active member of Christ Church and a member of the Christ Church Women.

Annetta is preceded in death by her children, Debbie Cowart and Jeff Cowart; parents, Clarence and Ida nee, Ashworth, Brown; and sister, Carolyn Regier.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Cowart; her children, Ellen Porter and Ken Cowart; her grandchildren, Craig (Audrey) Porter, Nick Stallons, Brianna Cowart, Travis Cowart, Tyler Cowart, and Brett Cowart; her great grandchild, Noah Porter; and her siblings, Clarice Kruschwitz and Ruth Davis.

Memorials can be made to Christ Church Wonderfully Made Family & Children Special Needs.

Visitation will be held on March 19, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Christ Church, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on March 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
