Vito A. Tassello

Vito A. Tassello, age 94, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Fairmont City, IL, born on August 18, 1924 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Saturday, January 26, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Vito was a welder and railroad car repairman who worked for Conrail Railroad for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann D., nee Muffo, Tasselo; his parents, Frank and Rose, nee Millatti, Tassello; and two brothers and one sister, Gus Tassello, Tony Tassello, and Isabelle Calico.  

Vito is survived by his son, Vincent F. Tassello of Swansea, IL; four grandchildren, Amanda (Ron) Culli of Columbia, IL, Amber Tassello (Travis) Brennan of Garden Grove, CA. Jeremiah (Traci) Tassello of Omaha, NE, and Elliott Tassello of Belleville, IL; and four great grandchildren, Abbey, Morgan, Emily, and Noah. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.  

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Meals on Wheels, Collinsville, IL.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Private family interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
