Shirley Jean Coley

Shirley Jean Coley, 81, of Caseyville, IL, died on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Shirley was born June 9, 1937 in Kentucky to Claude and Ethel, nee Wachsman, Kasson. She married Benjamin H. Coley, Jr. on July 11, 1958; he preceded her in death on May 30, 2011.

Shirley was a talented musician and once played alongside her brothers in their band, The Kassonettes. She was an avid bowler and was involved in two local bowling leagues. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Caseyville for many years. Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Keith Ben Coley and Kenny James Coley; and two brothers, James R. Kasson and Donald Kasson.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Ben H. Coley III of Caseyville, IL and Kevin L. Coley of Hillsboro, IL; four grandchildren, Kevin Jr, Shannon, Brittany and Danielle; and seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, David Coley of Edwardsville, IL; and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Interment will be in Caseyville Cemetery, Caseyville, IL.
