Robert "Bob" Johnston

Robert J. “Bob” Johnston, age 57, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on January 31, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Bob grew up in East St. Louis and graduated from Our Lady of Assumption and later from Belleville East High School.  He currently was a Senior Software Engineer with WEX Incorporated in St. Louis, MO.  He loved camping, music and traveling with his family.  He also enjoyed meeting new people and never met a stranger.  Bob will be sadly missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Agnes, nee Naughton, Johnston; and his sister, Patricia Ann Liefer.

Bob is survived by his wife, Michelle “Shelly” Johnston, nee Harris; his step-daughter, Brooke (Brian) Capell of Millstadt, IL; his grandchildren, Caiden and Callie Capell; his siblings, Mary Ellen Bock of Plainfield, IN, David M. Johnston of Plainfield, IN and George H. Johnston of East Alton, IL; his brothers and sisters in law, Kim (John) Niederer of Belleville, IL, Angela (Frank) Lehr of Murfreesboro, TN, Scott (Donna) Harris of Freeburg, IL and Patrick Harris of East Alton, IL.  Bob is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.  

Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
