Robert W. (Bob, Mr. B) Bigham, age 67, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on March 27, 1951 passed away early Sunday morning, April 29, 2018.
Robert served as the Principal and a teacher for St. Lawrence Parish and School in Sandoval, IL, as well as St. Augustine in Breese, IL, St. Albert the Great in Fairview Heights, IL and as a teacher at St. John the Baptist in Red Bud, IL. He also served as the Director of Religious Education for St. Albert the Great. Robert’s love of music led him to be the musical director of SS Peter and Paul Parish in Collinsville, IL for the past 15 years. Robert was a man who shared his love for music with all. He was an active member with the TEC Community in the Diocese of Belleville, and the National TEC Community. He was also one of the founders of the musical group, The Friend of JC. No school was without music.
Robert was the son of the late Edward and Bridget, nee Bruns, Bigham, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Bigham, Steven Bigham, and Rev. Deacon David Bigham.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Bigham, nee Kramper; his daughters, Megan (Ryan) Sax and Alicia Bigham; his unborn granddaughter; his sister, Bridet (Eugene) Moody of Pinckneyville, IL; his brothers, Rodger Bigham of Shreveport, LA and Jim (Alyscia) Bigham of O’Fallon, IL; his sisters-in-law, Dr. Ngoc-Thuy Bigham and Judy Bigham; and his loving pets, Bert, Peanut and Lucy. Robert is also survived by a very large and loving extended family.
Donations will be accepted at the funeral home to continue the love of the music ministry in honor of Bob, or in the form of masses and to the family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 with Fr. Jim Long officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
