I have a lot of fond memories of exploring the Lynchburg wilderness with Paul back in our younger days (1950s) when there was still a lot of 'woods' in our community. Paul was the 3rd baseman on Deer Park High School's 1960 regional championship team and I remember and envied his strong arm. Regionals was as far as the state playoffs went for the AA level back then or I'm sure we would have won state. 5 out of the 9 starters on that team were from our tiny community of Lynchburg.
