Milton E. Scott, age 93 of Belleville, IL, born on February 10, 1925 in Choctaw County, AL, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Milton served in the United States Army in WWII and a member of First Baptist Church, O’Fallon, IL. He graduated from Mississippi College with his Bachelors in English and where he met his late wife, Bernice. He went on to New Orleans Seminary and received his Bachelors in divinity. He pastored in Louisiana, Arizona, Mississippi and in Illinois with also missionary work in Japan, Honduras, and Indonesia and at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Flagstaff, AZ. He was a former Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cahokia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Scott. Milton died on the day after what would have been their 69th wedding anniversary. He is also preceded by his parents, Hugh and Mattie, nee Strange, Scott; and his siblings, Ralph, Portress, Jack, Jim and Dorothy.
Milton is survived by his children, Millie (Bill) Haeberle of O’Fallon, IL and John M. Scott of O’Fallon, IL; his granddaughters, Jennifer Scott, Jenette Scott and Chelsea Scott; his grandsons, Eric Haeberle and Scott Haeberle; his 8 great grandchildren, Maddie, Zoe, Isabella, Tiger, Tahj, Trey, Wesley and Gunner; his 2 great-great grandchildren, Sophia and Ella; and his siblings, Nancy Moore and Robert Scott.
Memorials are preferred to the American Red Cross.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL with Pastors Doug Munton and Skip Leininger officiating. Interment will be in O’Fallon City Cemetery, O’Fallon, IL.
