Margaret M. “Peggy” Shea, nee Barnes, age 83, of Belleville, IL, born on September 22, 1935 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at her residence.
Peggy was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Academy and worked as office manager for Blessed Sacrament Parish. She was a member of St. Ann’s Sodality, Blessed Sacrament Quilters Club, Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies Auxiliary, TEC Retreats as a past Board Member and Chairman and St. Teresa’s Academy Alumni Association Vice President.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Shea; her daughter, Mariann Polczynski; and her parents, John B. and Estelle F., nee Reeb, Barnes.
Peggy is survived by her children, Kevin (Lori) Shea of Belleville, IL, Kathy (Pat) Cook of Belleville, IL, Tim (Lana) Shea of Jacksonville, IL, Noreen (David) Frame of Belleville, IL and Dennis (Candace) Shea of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren, Adam Shea, Katherine Shea, Caroline Shea, Jennifer (Rob) Rowlett, Megan (Josh) Burns, Bridget Cook, Michael Cook, Darren (Laurel) Shea, Dustin Shea, Patrick Shea, Christin (Garret) York, Andrew Shea, Alicia Polczynski, Ashley (Cass) Cooper, Brenden Frame and Kelly Shea and Colin Shea; her great-grandchildren, Owen, Ethan, Austin, Aurora, Zaylee, Nolan, Lily, and Jack; and her siblings, John W. “Jack” (Patricia) Barnes, Eileen “Tinker” Jamruk and Mary Dorothy “Dee Dee” (Mike) Murray. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Peggy’s family would like to thank Hospice of Southern Illinois, and also her caregivers, Carla and Mary.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd. Fairview Heights, IL.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with Fr. Matt Elie officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
