Margaret A. Rigney, nee Napier, died June 14, 2018 at Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mrs. Rigney, age 88, was born July 29, 1929 in DuQuoin, Illinois the daughter of George W. Napier and Marie A. Rathke Napier. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis, Illinois and long-time member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Belleville, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Rigney; her parents; three sisters: infant Grace Marie Napier, Gladys Carol Markham, and Mary Alice Foley; and one brother, Jackson Napier.
Surviving are her children: Connie Stoffel (Randy) of St. Louis, MO; Kevin Rigney (Trudy) of Lombard, IL; Matthew Rigney (Jayne Wright) of St. Louis, MO; and Teresa Rigney of Sherman, IL.; seven grandchildren: Ryan Anderson, Amy Anderson Cudd, Maggie Anderson Boyd, Margaret Mary Rigney Navolio, Daniel Rigney, Andrew Veach, and Nicholas Veach; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, James Napier (Viola) of Mission, TX; two sisters, Joanna Marniece Carrier of Belleville, IL, and Roselynn Krems (Fred) of O’Fallon, IL.; sister-in-law, Patricia Rigney Hanger of Belleville, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL, with Fr. Jack McEvilly officiating. Interment will be held in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
