Kathryn L. (Mathis) Johnson

Kathryn L. Johnson, nee Mathis, 96, of Shiloh, IL, born on February 23, 1922 in Cape Girardeau, MO died on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at her residence.

Kathryn grew up with her brothers and sisters in Lawrence, AR. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Monroe C. Johnson, Jr.; her grandsons, Lee, Robert and Jerry Rives; her granddaughter, Christine Rives; her great granddaughter, Crystal Rives; her parents, James E. and Ella E., nee Brewster, Mathis; her brothers, Johnny Mathis, Buret Mathis, Cecil Mathis, Virgil Mathis, and Don Mathis; her sisters, Lillian Holland and Celia McIntosh; her former husband, Monroe C. Johnson, Sr.; and her son-in-law, Jerry Ferguson.

Surviving are her three daughters, Georgia Ferguson, Kathy (Louie) Clark, and Amanda (Richard) Crider; her 13 grandchildren, Mark (Sheri) Rives, Zella Rives, DeWayne Rives, Mark Clark, Mike (Jamie) Clark, Melanie (Jay) Gray, Mary Gibbs, Felecia (Mike) Schweigert, Malissa Weber, Lillian (Nick) Zumwalt, Chuck Johnson, Karen (Glenn) Stedman, and Junior Johnson; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her siblings, Pat Black and Shirley Norton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. John Pattison officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jerseyville, IL.
