Julio Gonzalez

Julio Gonzalez, age 85, of Belleville, IL, born on July 5, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL died on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Julio was a Korean War Army Veteran, a former lineman and later retired as a supervisor from Union Electric in East St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores A. Gonzalez, nee Costello; his daughter, Julia Kentch; and his parents, Manuel and Anita, nee Garcia, Gonzalez.

Julio is survived by his daughter, Angie (Tony) Bates of Waterloo, IL; his five grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Kathy, Autumn and Ali; and his sister, Lou (Charles) Dudley.  He was our loving uncle, brother-in-law, and canine buddy to Tootsie.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.  Entombment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
