My sincerest condolences for your loss. One day soon, God promises to wipe our every tear (Rev. 21:3,4) and during such difficult times he assures us that he is close to us (Psalm 34:18). May you find strength, comfort, and peace through your reliance on him.

The Administration, School Board, Staff Members, Students and Families of East St. Louis School District 189 express our heartfelt sympathy to the Family of Mr. John Thomas Hitch, Jr.

John was a very kind, patient man. He truly loved his wife, children, family and friends. He was always willing to go above and beyond the call. John never let any challenge detour him from his mission in life…treating others with respect.

In your times of sorrow, you can lean on the East St. Louis School District 189 Family to carry you when you are weary, give you strength in your times of need, and provide comfort when you need inspiration. Our prayer is that GOD will grant your family peace. Always remember you love John, but GOD loves him more.

John has ascended into heaven. He is among the angels and has earned his wings. Let your strength not only get you through this day, but every day of your life. We will continue to keep your family in our thoughts and prayers. We encourage you to trust GOD. Humbly bow and surrender to HIS will. May GOD forever bless the Hitch Family.

Prayerfully submitted,
Arthur Culver

As a 6 yr old , in 1956, I remember his kindness fondly at Bluff View School , the school up in the bluffs , now in Fairview . He often assisted teachers caring for the children. Bless his soul !
