Jack Beever Obituary

Jack E. “Cadillac Jack” Beever, age 82, of Dupo, IL, born on November 17, 1935 in Wichita, KS died on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Troy IL with his family by his side.

Jack was a commercial bricklayer through Bricklayers Locals No. 65 and No. 8 in Granite City, Il. He was a Life Member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was also a member of Free and Accepted Masons, Emeth Lodge No. 1030; Scottish Rite Valley of Southern Illinois; Ainad Shrine; Tancred Commandery No. 50 Knights Templar; and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #4, of Caseyville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Beever, nee Usery; his parents, Elmo and Hazel, nee Friesen, Beever; and his siblings, Juanita Huddleston, Rose Marie Beever, Roseann Beever, Janet Kay Johnston, Dixie Lee Beever, Sandra Kassly, Elmo “Butch” Beever, Douglas Beever, and Gary Beever.

Jack is survived by his children, Patricia Young of Grand Tower, IL, Edward (Elaine) Beever of Bonnie, IL, Nancy (Jason) LeRoy of Troy, IL, William (Glenda) Beever of Columbia, IL and Scott (Gladine) Beever of St. Peters, MO; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Jean (David) Myrick of St. Ann, MO, Barbara Kentch of Festus, MO, Ellen (Kenneth, Sr.) Cruce of Highland, IL, and Larry (Laurette) Beever of Golconda, IL.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.  

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL with Pastor Hal Santos officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belleville, IL.

Jack loved telling stories, keeping up with the news and events, and also loved his beloved cat, Beatrice, and dog, Gretchen.
