Herron Beckley

Herron Beckley, age 93 of St. Louis, MO, born on June 5, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI died on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO.

Herron was passionate about several important things in life.  One was his enduring love of music and singing, as he performed with “The Legend Singers” and the Cote Brilliante Presbyterian Church Choir in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was a US. Army veteran.  Herron loved his work in civil service for the Federal Government. His passion for dress and grooming was obvious whenever you saw him and his dapper appearance. He loved being around his many friends and family members.  Herron lived and enjoyed a long full life and he will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Herron Beckley, and his mother, Vera (Grady), nee Russell, Appleton, Sr; and his siblings, Grady Appleton, Jr., Elvin Appleton, Jonas Beckley, Gay Nicholson and Marjeanette Johnson. 

He is survived by his brother Donald (Jeanette) Appleton of Swansea, IL, and by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.  

 A private burial with military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the local Veterans organizations in Herron Beckley’s memory.
