Though I never officially met Hal in person, I considered him a dear friend. Hal had been a customer of mine and over the years we became buddies. I felt as though I knew his family and he talked very highly about each and every one of you. He would often send me pictures of Addison and Oliver, share recipes that he loved and keep me up to date on the music he was listening to. He always asked about my children by name and he was genuinely interested in how they were doing. He was a wonderful and caring person, a proud family man and he truly was one of a kind. I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Hal on the phone over the years and I am deeply saddened to hear that Hal's life ended so soon. To the Tojo family, my heart goes out to you. You are all in my prayers.

Harold was in my 6th grade class at Dewey Elementary in 1966. I never forgot what a special young man he was in my class. He was a conscientious student, polite, and thoughtful to others. He was very handsome. I wanted his family to know my perspective because how special he was even then. It was my please to have him in my class. My heart is sad over this news. I am not surprised how special and loved he was as a husband, father, or PawPaw. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you cherish the memories you shared.

Mary and Family, I was so sorry to learn of Hal's passing in the newspaper a few days ago. He was such a wonderful person and friend of many years ago. We shared a lot of good times talking about music and cars. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.
