Elsie M. Kokotovich, 88, of Collinsville, IL, born on September 19, 1929 in East St. Louis, IL passed away peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus on Ascension Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Colonnade Senior Living, O’Fallon, IL.
She was a graduate of St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis, IL and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL. She dedicated 40 years teaching at the elementary level in the Belleville Diocese and worked at AT&T, retiring in 1991. She was an active member of St. Stephen’s Church, Caseyville, IL.
She is the daughter of the late Matt and Kate, nee Major, Kokotovich; and beloved sister of the late Helen Mooney and Mary Charney.
Surviving are her sisters, Kay (Premo) Clay, Barbara Alvarez, Charlotte Sobol, and Toni Kokotovich. Dear aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Her family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Colonnade Assisted Living, especially the care partners who treated her lovingly and to the Heartland Hospice team.
Memorials may be made in the form of masses or donations to St. Stephen’s Church or Covenant Network (Catholic Radio).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at St. Stephen’s Church, Caseyville, IL.
