Dennis G. Holt, age 62, of Highland, IL, born on September 5, 1956 in East St. Louis, IL, died on December 28, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Highland, IL.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Dennis was a self-employed painting contractor for the past 18 years. He was previously employed at Monsanto Company in Sauget, IL and Mallinckrodt Chemical Company in St. Louis, MO. An avid card player and reader, Cardinal baseball enthusiast, and a founding member of the 623 Club. Dennis had a sharp wit and sense of humor. He knew no stranger and dedicated his life to helping those in need.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, nee Druse, Holt; his sister, Jamie Holt; and his former wife, Mary Holt.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, “Margot” nee Middleton, Holt; his children, Tanya (Aaron) Heepke of Glen Carbon, IL, Nicole (Joshua Stanfa) Holt of Carlyle, IL, and Adam (Kelsey Shelton) Holt of Highland, IL; his grandchildren, Logan Heepke and Kyla Rice; his father, James Holt of Highland, IL; his siblings, James “Doody” (Cora) Holt, of Smithton, IL; Tim (Becky) Holt of Highland, IL, and Jennifer (Gary) Brock of Collinsville, IL; his in-laws, Dan and Mary Middleton of Marion, IL; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Michelle (Middleton) Hensel of Millstadt, IL, and Matt and Melissa (Middleton) Stump of Zionsville, IN. He was our loving nephew, uncle, cousin, and a lifelong friend of Bill W.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL,
Visitation will also be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Damascus Road Fellowship, 1485 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville, IL.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Damascus Road Fellowship with Pastor Vance Vyers officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks, National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
