Dale M. Myers

Dale M. “Mickey” Myers, age 71, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on October 6, 1946 in Belleville, IL, died on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at his residence.

Dale served in the United States Navy, the Naval Reserves and the Army National Guard.  He retired as a Quality Assurance Engineer for MarkAndy in Chesterfield, MO.  Dale was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Belleville, IL.  He worked at the St. Louis Zoo in the Herpetarium.  Dale loved to hunt and fish, was a history buff, an antique firearms expert and an excellent gunsmith.  He did restoration work for the History Museum, St. Louis, MO.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Carl B. and Ruth, nee Madden, Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Marjatta Myers, nee Saari; his children, Michelle (Steve) Bartok of Fairview Heights, IL, Theresa (Tony) Parker of Hillsboro, MO; his grandson, Michael Bartok of Fairview Heights, IL and his sister, Sandra (Robert) Steffel of Foley, AL.  Dale is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Randy’s Rescue Ranch, O’Fallon, IL.  

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, with Rev. Brian Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
