Dale W. Haverman, 63, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on March 25, 1955 in East St. Louis, IL died on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Bria Health Services, Belleville, IL.
Mr. Haverman was a 1973 graduate of Belleville East Township High School and a 1977 graduate of McKendree University. In 1977, he was a fifth round NBA draft pick for the Seattle Supersonics. Dale worked as a salesman for Engineered Sales, St. Louis, MO. He was a member of Sterling Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL and loved to listen to all kinds of music. He also loved golf, volunteering frequently at Creve Couer City Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard R. Haverman and his step-father, Ralph F. Klein.
Surviving are his four children, Patrick Haverman of Phoenix, AZ, Melissa Haverman of St. Louis, MO, Zach (Katy) Haverman of Pevely, MO, and Luke Haverman of Fairview Heights, IL; his mother, Shirley May, nee Jaeger, Klein of Fairview Heights, IL; his two brothers, Rick (Lyn) Haverman of Smithton, IL and Gary (Robin) Haverman of Lake St. Louis, MO; his sister, Renee (Tracy) Seibert of Fairview Heights, IL; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Sterling Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. at Sterling Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, IL with Rev. David Gray officiating. Dale donated his body to Washington University, St. Louis, MO.
