Clarence W. "Pete" Krietemeyer, 99 years, 11 months, 13 days of Belleville, IL passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018. He was born on July 5, 1918 in Collinsville, IL. His goal was to reach the age of 100, but God had other plans for him.
Mr. Krietemeyer honorably served in the United States Army during WWII in the South Seas Campaign for 3 1/2 years, receiving a Bronze Star and many other metals for his service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor, (nee Beichel); his parents, William and Mary (nee Hohman; a granddaughter, Ronda Krietemeyer; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald H. & Terri Krietemeyer of Swansea; a grandson, Ronald W. Krietemeyer; and great grandsons, Nicholas Krietemeyer of Sauget, IL and Logan Krietemeyer of Oklahoma.
In lieu of customary remembraces, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the St. Clair County Humane Society.
Private services of interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, with full military honors.
