Betty J. Bourne

Betty J. Bourne, nee McDaniel, age 96, of Belleville, IL, born on November 14, 1921 in Decatur IL, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville IL.

Betty worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. She also worked as a sales clerk at Famous Barr.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Charles Bourne; her daughter, Karen Gasawski; her parents, William and Fern, nee Trulock, McDaniel; and three sisters.

Betty is survived by her children, Diana (Fred) Fernow of Creve Coeur, MO, Charlene (James) Welch of Belleville, IL, and Peggy (Jeff) Vlach of Cary, North Carolina.; four grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) Crowley, Michael Crowley, Ryan (Liz) Crowley, and Isabella Vlach; five great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Layla, Leo, Ellie, and Emmett Crowley; step grandchildren, Patricia Norsigian, and Keith Welch; and step great-grandchild Megan (Chris) Defreese.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul’s Home for their loving care of our mother.

Donations are preferred to St. Jude’s Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd, Fairview Heights, IL with Reverend James Slone officiating. Entombment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
