Anne Perry Obituary

Anne M. Perry, nee Maag, age 83, of Belleville, IL, born on December 18, 1934 in East St. Louis, IL, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.

Anne graduated in 1952 from St. Teresa's Academy in East St Louis, IL.  Afterward, she was employed at Mobil Oil Refinery (Exxon Mobil) as a steno-secretary for ten years.

Anne was a Girl Scout for over thirty years. She served the River Bluffs Council starting as an assistant Brownie leader and moving up to troop leader, neighborhood chair, trainer, Red Cross first aid trainer and eventually trainer of trainers. She was also on the River Bluffs Council Board of Directors.

Anne served on the Fairview Heights Library Board for more than three decades. Her tenure there included the roles of secretary and later president. She held the latter role during the planning and construction of the current Fairview Heights Library facility. In addition, she was a member of the Library Friends.

"Momma Anne" will long be remembered by the more than 200 youngsters she cared for in her home day care business, a service she provided for working parents for thirty plus years.

Anne also served her parish. At St. Albert the Great, later Holy Trinity, in Fairview Heights, she acted as Eucharistic Minister both at services and for home bound parish members. She helped provide food for funeral lunches and pitched in as a Heavenly Duster to keep the church clean.

Anne has been honored as the Fairview Heights Citizen of the Year for her contributions to the community.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Latinette; her parents, Walter and Helen, nee Wiemken, Maag; and her sister, Betty Doleman.

Anne is survived by her loving husband, Rolland L. Perry; her children, Suzanne Larsh of Belleville, IL and David Perry of Belleville, IL; her grandchildren, Rachelle Ballotti (Jon McNeil), Amiee Latinette, Nicholas Perry, Luc Latinette and Andrew Perry; and her sisters, Jean Jones of Waco, TX, Rosemary Snyder of Westchester, OH and Nancy Reed of Warson Woods, MO.
