John H. Rosenkranz, Jr., age 84, of Belleville, IL, born February 5 1929, in St. Louis, MO, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at Freeburg Care Center, Freeburg, IL.
John was a Korean War Army Veteran. He worked as a Laborer for 28 years at Swift and Company. John was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Rosenkranz, nee Sessions whom he was married to for 20 years; two daughters, Bernadette Helen Rosenkranz who died in infancy and Bernadette Mary Frederick; his parents, John H. and Murell, nee Schaetly, Rosenkranz, Sr; 2 sisters, Juanita Stewart and Geneva Wilson; and a brother, James Wilson.
He is survived by his friend, brother and companion of 45 years, Lloyd “Jake” Lambert of Belleville, IL; his children, Lloyd (Donna) Rosenkranz of Red Bud, IL, John (Kim) Rosenkranz, III of Dupo, IL, Florence Rosenkranz of Waterloo, IL and Danny Rosenkranz of Belleville, IL; a son-in-law, Dennis Frederick of Belleville, IL; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald Wilson of Nashville, TN.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:00P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL with Msgr. William McGhee officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
