Life Legacy


Dorothy M. Keeling, 94, of Fairview Heights, IL, born October 12, 1917, in East St. Louis, IL died on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Belleville Care and Rehabilitation.

Dorothy lived a very active life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL. She was the Past President of the State, St. Clair County, and Division of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council #592, St. Clair County Women’s Club and many other organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dally A. Keeling who she married on September 25, 1936 at St. Joseph, East St. Louis, IL; her parents, Edward F. and Catherine C., nee Walsh Roche; two sisters, Rita May and Catherine Roche; three brothers, Donald, Michael and Jim Roche.

She is survived by her children, Edward Dale (Flo Jean) Keeling of Fairview Heights, IL, Donald P. (Brenda) Keeling of Springfield, IL and Rita M. (Andrew) Durzo of Fairview Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Kimberly (John) Frawley, Angela (Chris) Nastoff, Laura (Tommy) Blanton, Debra (Phil) Childers, Jeffrey (Holly) Durzo, Donald (Jennifer) Keeling, Krissa (Jeffrey) Cox, Matthew Keeling; step grandchildren, Danielle (Chris) Tame, and Jennifer Elliott; great grandchildren, Cole and Paige Frawley, Dayton and Gabrielle Durzo, Christopher Nastoff, Carson and Patrick Keeling, and Logan and Caden Cox and numerous step great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson, Bryson Cole Frawley; three brothers, Daniel (Charlene) Roche of Manchester, MO, Leo (Nova) Roche of Dayton, OH and Joseph (Dorothy) Roche of Warren, NJ; and a dear friend, Paula Keeling; also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL with Monsignor James Margason officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
